Friday, September 23 was the perfect Fall night for Western’s annual Wine & Food Festival. Set at the Birmingham Zoo, wild animals paraded around on display for guests to see. Thirty three vendors, including 22 from Alabama, offered food and more than 650 wines from growing regions around the world. Western was excited to promote local, Alabama food products, and guests were able to talk with the food professionals at each table about specific products and wine pairing suggestions, as well. Sixteen students from the Jeff State Culinary School prepared four dishes and helped serve other vendors. This year, Western was proud to donate to the Emmet O’Neal Library as the recipient of a portion of its proceeds
