AIDS Alabama held its 2nd annual casino night “Red Hot for the Cause” on Saturday, August 22, 2009, from 7 – 11 p.m at Workplay Theater. Those in attendance were invited to try their luck at Blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, Roulette and Craps; winnings were exchanged at the end of the night for chances to win great prizes, including a 3 day/2 night stay in Las Vegas. Fabulous silent auction items were also available for guests to bid on, such as a week’s stay at a private beachfront retreat in the Bahamas, an autographed Madonna album, an array of artwork and luxury gift baskets, just to name a few. The annual event was an opportunity for the organization increase awareness about the current debilitating effects of HIV/AIDS in Alabama, and to raise critical funds for the agency’s programs and services.
