The 2nd Floor of the North Tower, Riverchase Galleria, was transformed into a wonderland fantasy on Saturday, May 14, 2011 for the 4th Annual “Pink Palace Casino Night” Goes to Wonderland. Over 500 guest fell down the rabbit hole to be greeted by Alice (Shaela Wise), the Mad Hatter (Zac Snow), the Cheshire Cat (Lesley Namie), the Queen of Hearts (Darlene
Black), the Caterpillar (Jessica Williams) and the White Rabbit (Cody Belcher) for an exciting night of Vegas-style casino gaming in the Queen of Hearts Platinum Construction Room, an hors d’ oeurves buffet by Kathy G & Company in the Docupak Wonderland Room, dancing in the Tameron Honda Cheshire Cat Room to the sounds of Mark Phillips and Groove Daddy and demonstrated “mad designer” skills in the Schaeffer Eye Center Mad Hatter Room. Proceeds from the event benefitted the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama, which has donated nearly $3 million towards the nationally recognized breast cancer research at UAB. Like the Queen of Hearts who “believes six impossible things before breakfast,” BCRFA believes in what seemed impossible only a few years ago–the amazing discoveries made and in the power of investing in new, life-saving research.
