Paparazzi snapped photos as guests stepped onto the red carpet in anticipation of the broadcast of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, and the 4th Annual “A Night at the Oscars” fundraiser for Mitchell’s Place. Mitchell Meisler, for whom the center is named, recognized hosts Jamie and Cilie Cowin, as well as the event Presenting Sponsor, MedjetAssist. Live and silent auctions offered Oscar guests the opportunity to win fabulous trips, dining experiences, jewelry, entertainment packages, and numerous luxury items. Proceeds from the event support educational and therapeutic programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Guests were entertained by the music of The Constant Cohorts and enjoyed bidding on many silent auction items. Ben Burford of Chevy 6 was honorary chair. The exciting and fast-paced live auction hosted by Jack Granger of Granger-Thagard featured items such as beautiful oil painting by Patrice Brunet, a fully catered dinner by the Charity League Past Presidents and Sustainers, Destin and Seaside trips, a Shaquille O’Neal autographed jersey, and a pair of diamond hoop earrings. The live auction concluded with a special auction for the EPIC school. The Fund-a-Cause auction raised over $3000 toward the creation of a sensory room at EPIC school.
