Families flooded the parking lot of the Open Door Café and Big Blue Bagel on Saturday, April 10th as more than 1,000 people ate fried fish to help raise funds for the Autism Society of Alabama and Mitchell’s Place. The Funky Fish Fry offered fun for kids of all ages including entertainment by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Earthbound, face painting, moonwalks, and slime. Ezell’s Fish Camp graciously served more than 500 pounds of catfish, while Dyron’s, Blue Bagel, and Open Door served gumbo and wraps. The Funky Fish Fry Team would like to thank everyone who attended and looks forward to seeing everyone next year!
