The Young Supporters Board of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center recently celebrated its fourth annual Fiesta Ball. The event, held on May 6th at downtown’s Innovation Depot, entertained more than 400 guests with live music, food and festivities while raising more than $40,000 for the Young Investigator Grant. This competitive grant is awarded annually to a young cancer researcher at UAB. The Board also celebrated the success of their first recipient, Dr. Schneider, who was recently awarded a national grant of $1.2 million to continue his work that the Young Investigator Grant helped get off the ground.
