Friends of St. Jude kicked off its 2009-2010 year “Downtown After Dark.” For the latest FOSJ event, Café Dupont transformed its elegant restaurant and bar into a posh environment where over 100 young professionals gathered to socialize, watch football and enjoy urban music. The dining room housed the Ole Miss v. South Carolina game on the big screen, while a local DJ spun the latest tunes in the bar area. Café Dupont served a sumptuous selection of its famous hors d’oeuvres, complimented by brown and pale ale provided by Good People Brewing Company. Proceeds from the event benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Friends of St. Jude is a group of Birmingham-based young professionals dedicated to the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the fight against childhood cancer. The group’s purpose is to raise funds and promote awareness of St. Jude’s mission of cutting-edge cancer research and treatment, by hosting valuable networking opportunities for Birmingham’s young professionals.
