The March of Dimes Alabama Citizen of the Year honors an outstanding citizen of Alabama. The recipient is a person who, in the victory of achieving success and acclaim, has given back generously to others. This year’s recipient, Garry L. Gause, is no exception. He has over 25 years invested in public service. This year’s Alabama Citizen of the Year of Birmingham event raised $210,000 through corporate sponsorships, table sales, live auction bids and Fund the Mission pledges. Top sponsors included Brookwood Medical Center, Crothall Services Group, Evan Terry Associates, Burr & Forman LLP and Kassouf & Co. Attendees included Senator and Mrs. Jabo Waggoner, Mike & Amy Royer, Fred & Connie McCallum, Bob & Jill Crawford, Neil & Vivian King, Gerry & Nazha Kassouf, Bobby & Barbara Humphrey and so many others.
