Volunteers with the American Cancer Society’s Junior Executive Board held the 1st Annual Black-Out Cancer Party, Friday, June 12th at the Wine Loft downtown, from 8pm – 11pm with an After Party at Nana Funks in the Lakeview District. Hundreds came out for the event and attendees were asked to wear all black. Guests enjoyed complimentary drinks and food while dancing the night away to The Undergrounders. Kate Kelley, Shannon and Hank Marks, and Dorsey Cox chaired the event. The money raised at the Black-Out Cancer Party and the after party will go to cancer research, education programs, advocacy efforts, and patient support in the Birmingham area.
