A Magical evening down the yellow brick road was celebrated and enjoyed by all whom attended Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s annual fundraiser “A Night in Oz” at Rosewood Hall in Homewood. In the second year of this over-the-top family friendly fundraiser with Honorary Chair First Lady Patsy Riley and her Grandchildren and host BCT’s Junior Board of Patrons the event raised over $25,000 for BCT’s education and outreach programs. Guest enjoyed delicious treats from the Emerald City provided by Iz Catering and enjoyed whimsical, over the top decorations by the staff at Birmingham Children’s Theatre and Leaf & Petal.  Children attended in costume and were mesmerized by the performances given by BCT’s Cast of “The Wizard of Oz” and then danced the night away with the characters after they found The Wizard in the Emerald City. Adults participated in an exciting silent auction featuring a football singed by the entire 2010 BSC National Championship Winners, The Alabama Crimson Tide and Coach Nick Saban and watched artist Lila Graves, Tommy Moorehead and Russell Everett create works of art during the party that were auctioned during the party while they were created. Many thanks to all of our Sponsors and Patrons for creating a memorable and supportive evening for the 160,000 children BCT serves annually.
