Lakeshore Foundation has been serving our nation’s injured military personnel since 2006 by providing fitness, sports and recreation. Over those five years Lakeshore’s Lima Foxtrot program has served more than 1,200 injured military members and their family members. On September 8th, Lakeshore Foundation hosted A Hero’s Welcome, an event to salute our nation’s injured military and first responders. The event is also a major fundraiser for the injured military program. The keynote speaker for A Hero’s Welcome was Colonel David Sutherland, Special Assistant to theChairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Sutherland is a highly-decorated officer having served in Kuwait,South West Asia, and Iraq. Sutherland was assigned to the Joint Staff in 2008 and now has a principle
focus on Warrior and Family Support.
