The Alabama Ballet transformed Saks Fifth Avenue on Saturday, January 29, 2011 for the Pointe Ball & After Hours at The Pointe Ball Black-Tie benefit which supports our city’s professional ballet company,  now in its 29th season. Three Graces Design used an exotic orange and brown color palette to transform Saks into a lush Saharan outpost filled with flowers, wire sculptures and candles. Chairpersons Elizabeth Farrar with David and Penny Hartline with Roger greeted guests as they arrived. Also greeting guests were Board President John Lacey with Lindsey, Executive Director Gia Rabito with Stan Demarest, Artistic Director Tracey Alvey and Associate Artistic Director Roger Van Fleteren. After a seated dinner of grilled beef tenderloin roulade created by Kathy G. & Co., guests were treated to a vignette performance by Alabama Ballet dancer Jennifer Ferrigno. Promptly at 9 p.m., guests returned downstairs for dancing to music of The MaleMen. Young Ballet Patrons joined in the festivities with After Hours at The Pointe Ball, enjoying drinks, desserts, and dancing. Alabama Ballet is thankful to the many corporate sponsors of this event, including presenting sponsor Saks Fifth Avenue at the Summit.
